What is a steering committee? This is a group of individuals appointed to provide expert advice and recommendations to an organization or decision-making body. Advisory and steering committees are commonly used in various sectors, including business, education, healthcare, and government, to leverage the knowledge and expertise of its members to guide policies, strategies, and initiatives.
Objective: Establish a Steering Committee to govern MFSN, providing strategic oversight, accountability, and stakeholder representation.
Structure:
Steering Committee Composition: The members will be selected by Bishop-Parker Foundation to ensure alignment with the mission, equity values, and early strategic needs of the MFSN.
Selection Criteria: Prioritize a cross-section of community voices (nonprofits, public agencies, Chamber of Commerce, grassroots leaders, residents with lived experience, funders).
Evolution: Steering Committee will set the vision and structure for MFSN.
